Now, I hear football season is here, and y’all excited and stuff. If you’ve been here a while, you know I am not a football girl; I’m waiting for basketball season to start. But that doesn’t mean I am not here for all the Game Day eats! These Blackened Salmon Tacos are exactly what you need to shake things up on the next game night!

Of course, as with most of my recipes, the best part about this one is the versatility of the recipe. These blackened Salmon Tacos are very customizable and you can easily make them your own. For example, I’m making a simple cabbage slaw to pair with the blackened salmon. But you can make chunky salsa like our Watermelon Salsa. Or, you can skip the tortilla altogether and serve the blackened salmon in lettuce wraps.

Instructions
- First, make the Cilantro Lime Sauce (the abovementioned recipe) and place it in the fridge.
- To make the slaw, add the cabbage, cilantro, olive oil, and lemon juice to a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste, toss and set the slaw aside.
- Now, Pat the salmon dry using a paper towel. Season the fillets with old bay seasoning and lemon zest and set aside.
- Heat the ghee or avocado oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil begins to smoke, turn the heat off and nestle the salmon into the pan, flesh side down. Turn the heat back on and sear the salmon for about 3 minutes. Flip the fish and cook for 5-6 minutes over medium-high heat.
- To assemble the tacos, warm the tortillas, and place some slaw on the bottom of the tortilla. Next, add a few chunks of salmon on top, followed by a spoonful of the cilantro lime sauce, avocado chunks, and sliced jalapeños.
