How to Make Earl Grey Syrup

I have always been a huge fan of making my own drink syrups at home. Not only do you get to control the ingredient list, but I love that you can get creative and discover new and fun flavor combinations. And this Earl Grey Syrup is my new favorite combination.

If you’re a fan of Earl Grey tea, you know there’s nothing quite like its signature blend of bold black tea and fragrant bergamot. This aromatic and versatile syrup can instantly elevate your lattes, cocktails, baked goods, and more.

What Is Earl Grey Syrup?

Infused with Earl Grey tea, this simple syrup captures all the floral, citrusy complexity of the classic tea blend. The result is a sweet, concentrated liquid that’s incredibly easy to make and even easier to love.

Think of it as a versatile ingredient that can be used in cocktails, mocktails, coffee and tea, like our Ginger Matcha latte.

Creative Ways to Use Earl Grey Syrup

  1. London Fog – Add 1–2 tablespoons of syrup to steamed milk and a shot of espresso or more brewed tea for a cozy, aromatic treat.
  2. Gin Fizz – Combine 2 oz gin, 1 oz lemon juice, and ¾ oz EG syrup. Shake with ice and top with club soda.
  3. Pancake or Waffle Drizzle – Use the syrup in place of maple syrup for a unique breakfast twist.
  4. Ice Cream Topping – Drizzle over vanilla or honey ice cream for a sophisticated dessert.
  5. Cake Glaze or Soak – Brush over sponge cakes for added moisture and flavor.

Earl Grey syrup is one of those small, easy luxuries that can add a gourmet touch to everyday moments. Give it a try and see how many delicious possibilities a little syrup can unlock.
