I’ve never been a “matcha” kind of person. But, recently I’ve really been enjoying it! It’s refreshing, comforting and energizing all at the same time. And its definitely a nice and refreshing way to switch it up in the mornings.
Now, for those who may not know, matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown green tea leaves. Along with its wide variety of health benefits, matcha is also a great alternative to your morning cup of joe. It does contain caffeine but also promotes an “alert calmness”. Because matcha contains a natural amino acid knows as L-Theanine, it promotes relaxation without drowsiness. So it is the best of both worlds.

This ginger matcha latte has become a wonderful part of my morning routine in my home. I had to play around a bit to create a matcha latte I could actually enjoy. Most of the recipes I’ve tried are mostly just matcha and nut milk. Of course, if you prefer to have your matcha that way, more power to you! But, being that I just started drinking matcha on a regular basis, I wanted to customize it so it’s actually enjoyable for me.
Using homemade nut milk adds a level of richness to this ginger matcha latte that is unmatched.

Adding ginger to this recipe really changed the game for me! The ginger adds a little kick and really elevates the entire drink. Another thing that made me fall in love with matcha is using homemade nut milk when making my matcha latte. Using homemade nut milk adds a level of richness to this ginger matcha latte that is unmatched. You can certainly use store bought nut milk. But, in my experience, many store-bought nut milks are immensely watered down. So, I prefer homemade nut milk using my almondcow.
You can of course use a traditional blender to make your nut milk. But, the almondcow definitely brings much-needed ease to the process. But, whether you are using homemade or store-bought nut milk, this latte is going to change your life.

Hi Charlotte, collagen peptides whya do we use them? They are quite hard to find on the market, we can always go with whatever is available or…. Thank you for your earliest feedback.
Hi Josiane! Collagen peptides is protein. It promotes joint health and helps keep your hair skin and nails healthy. You can do without it if you can’t find it. It’s not necessary it’s just added protein you can add it to drinks, baked goods, sauces… etc. Usually can be food on Amazon and most stores nowadays.
Do you have to use the collagen stuff or is there a substitute?
Hi Michele! No you do not have to add collagen. Collagen powder is simply extra protein extracted from the bones of cattle and pigs, fish scales… etc. you can simply skip it if you don’t have it or don’t like it. I should mention it doesn’t have any taste. It just adds extra protein to the drink.
Looks delicious!
