Tips for Cooking the Best Salmon

  • First things first, choose great quality salmon. Make sure your salmon is wild-caught and sustainably sourced. I love the guys over at Surrender Salmon. They are my go-to for wild-caught Alaskan salmon.
  • I’ve learned a lot about cooking salmon over the years. The most common mistake everyone makes is overcooking it. So to remedy the possibility of overcooking, try this hack. Whether grilling, pan-searing, or roasting a piece of salmon, it is best to leave the skin on. The skin acts as a protective layer between the fish and the heat. Therefore, preventing overcooking. And salmon skin is HELLA delicious!
  • When it comes to seasoning, it’s really up to you. You can marinate like we are doing today, or you can use a dry rub. I love cajun and coffee rubs on salmon. But I highly recommend trying different things and figuring out what you like.
